We have a new donuts shop which opened in town. Previously, the donut chain was located on the mainland and hence, we hardly get a chance to eat as it is too far away and we have to pay a hefty bridge toll to get over.
However, they have now open a new store here and my sons and I have patronised it everytime we go shopping. Normally, the donuts come in a box of 6 as it is cheaper that way. So, the poor me or rather the lucky me have to finish them when my sons decided they do not like the taste. As it is a new store, they wanted to try every single one of the flavour, leaving those they dislike to me.
So, I think I have put on several pounds due to the sinfully rich donuts. I must find some reviews on diet pill reviews just in case I turned obese due to donuts over indulgence.
Hindus around the world will celebrate Diwali on Monday. Over here in my country, we call it Deepavali. It means the festival of light where good triumph over evil.
As usual with all celebrations and festivals, there are lots of good foods around. Then, the pretty Hindu lasses will donned their new sarees. Today, I went to Little India which is a hub for all things Indian like Indian sweet cakes, Indian dresses and lots of other things. I wanted to buy an Indian dress but I realised that I do not have the abs to show off. Sigh….
I ended up buying Indian snacks which are mighty fattening instead. Maybe I should stop going to Little India or I am going to need alli. And no, it is not Ali some handsome Indian Muslim man but something else.
I am not exactly a fan of Sex and the City series. I only watch them partially when I have the time. However, I do know the stories of the girls and what they went through with their relationships.
Some months back, I watched the movie Sex and the City and I love the pace of the movie. It doesn’t have too much corny stuffs and overall, it is a beautiful movie about relationship and such. I am glad that Carrie did not marry Mr. Big and instead found a middle ground.
The part where she is moving in with Mr. Big and then, having to move back to her own place is a bit sad though. When she was asking the other girls on what to throw and what to keep is rather hilarious because I could recall some of the old clothes she wore on the series. So, yeah, this topic on New York movers sort of make me want to watch Sex and the City again, for the second time.
I found this very old photo taken many years ago. I don’t often find lotus photo for me to take. It is kind of hard to take pictures of lotus flowers because they normally grow in mud pond and one cannot get near enough to take a picture of it.
The flower is so lovely and looks so fragile. However, do you know that when you touch it, there is a kind of scale-ly feel to it? It is hardy and tough. Because the flower needs to grow out of the mud pond to look this beautiful.
And why do I call it MY flower? Because my Chinese name is Beatiful Lotus. Heh, not the pretty girl beauty but I hope it means a beautiful soul?
If you ask me, I don’t think so. But it can be useful. I only have a supplementary card from my hubby and both of us never owe the bank. So, it doesn’t matter to us if our credit card is a high limit credit card as we rarely spend more than we should.
However, we did ask for high limit than usual when we were on a trip for several weeks in Italy. We were away for almost a month and for convenience, we asked the bank to allow us additional credit limit as we couldn’t be back to pay the previous month balance and also we need to spend more. Another time, we also have to ask for higher limit than usual because we used the card to pay for our house renovations and furniture.
The important thing is not to take advantage of the high limit credit card to overspend and cannot afford to pay back later. Otherwise, it is ok.
The other day, my friend and I who are using the same service provider found that her phone did not get any signal while mine did. We were both in the basement of a shopping mall. She cannot make a call from the car park while my phone shows the signal is fine.
She told me it could be due to her Korean brand cellphone and I do think it could be a cause. Since both of us are using the same provider, it has to be, right? I heard there is a gadget call cell signal booster and it helps for those locations which get poor signals.

Initially when I wish to find out about Christianity, I was very committed to read the Bible. In fact, I could read through the whole book of Mark or whole book of Luke in one night.
I know it is wrong to read through and not reflecting. But when I first discovered Christianity, I thought Bible is meant to read that way. Anyway, I was really excited with the things I discovered about Jesus and I thought and still think He is the coolest guy around with His sharp tongues, witty remarks and etc. Christians call that parables, I call it smart retorts.
Lately, I am afraid that I don’t have the same amount of time to devote to read the Bible as before. Last time, I didn’t have a five years old boy who constantly have questions to ask. Now, I don’t have the luxury of time.
So, I wonder if it ok to find audio Bible online and just listen, instead of reading?
I went to the college library today and was so happy to see many books that I have been wanting to read. I am currently taking a course on psychology and spirituality and I need many books as reference. However, I hardly have time to sit down and flip through those books.
At home, I have even bigger stacks of books that I had meant to read but never got around to them. So, what do I do in a situation like this? Get free audio books and listen while I am doing something else. I can put it on my iPod (not that I have it yet) or my Mac whenever I am working something and listen.
I bet I would be a lot smarter to listen and write at the same time. So, if you are like me with no time but many books left untouched, go get free audio books.
Many years ago, the doctor was trying to rent a unit of home pulse oximeter for my baby because he was dependent on oxygen. I was allowed to bring him home and hence, I need a unit of pulse oximeter to measure the oxygen in his blood stream to ensure that he is getting enough.
However, my doctor couldn’t find a supplier willing to spare. It is kind of sad that we do not have these home units available in my country. So, I had to depend on my observation to see if he is turning bluish.

The teens love funny t-shirts and it is a good business if you sell funny t-shirts. All it takes is some creativity to come up with funny t-shirts that make people stop to look.
I too wouldn’t mind some funny t-shirts provided the messages are not racist or religious sensitive. Otherwise, it is fine with me.
