Apparently, I couldn’t find any history on why people use flowers as a gift. I tried Wiki, Google and Yahoo Answers but just can’t find the history behind this tradition. I am curious who started it, when and why. Back then, they don’t have Fedex so if they are sending flowers, it means they need to send to someone nearby. And that doesn’t mean much, do they?

Now with jetplanes, we can order bulk wedding flowers from say, Thailand and have them delivered to some cold, winter country. Or we can have beautiful tulips sent to some tropical countries.

So anyone can find the story behind this sending flowers thingie? Who started it and when?
